On Set for New Film ‘Paranoia’

I was called to work on the film Paranoia. I was brought as a union background actor and spent most of the day driving my car in a city street shot. This was the first day of shooting as the production crew transformed downtown Philadelphia into Midtown Manhattan bringing in numerous NYC taxis and relabeling street signs mimicking those of New York.

This was a great day on set for me. I have never been a driver in a film before, it was a good experience to see more closely how large crowd scenes are shot; I can tell you it is all tightly choreographed. It was also nice to have been asked in on the first day of filming. I hope to be called in again to work on the film.

Paranoia is a drama based on the book by Joseph Finder where a boss blackmails a young employee to spy on a competitor. It is a star studded event featuring Harrison Ford, Gary Oldman, Liam Hemsworth and Richard Dreyfuss among others. The film is directed by Robert Luketic (Legally Blonde) and scheduled for release in fall of 2013.
